A Light Weight Level Terrace

Building a lasting roof top terrace over living space has it's own challenges. The architect who designed this custom home needed to use natural stone. The custom homebuilder had to be confident the waterproofing would not be compromised. The Gratedex® outdoor flooring met the demand. The contractor used an industry waterproofing product and installation. As a floating floor, the GratedeX® system was placed on a pedestal system, never contacting the waterproofing surface. With drainage under the floor, the finished surface was installed level using a running bond pattern without unsightly cut joints used in a traditional slopping terrace. And its lightweight qualities did not overload the structure. This project used Rajah® stone.
