Traditional Deck Becomes A Stone Terrace

And who said it couldn't be done? Not this DIY customer. Tired of the wood deck maintenance GratedeX® was the optimum replacement option. The existing framing was a traditional joist layout 24" O.C. The structure was in sound and stable condition. The customer removed the old decking. The top of the joist was checked for any potential dry rot. They were then covered with a protective waterproofing tap. With all of the prep complete, the GratedeX® panels were secured in place and Rajah® stone applied. Railings were affixed to the rim joist face. This customer took finishing a step further by using an under deck drain system and finishing the joist ceiling. Nicely done!
